A couple with their stroller enjoying a walk through Prospect. This area is apart of the main street path that most people like to walk and bike along during the day. It's heavily shaded and there are big shipping containers lining the side of the street.
The beatiful lake in Prospect park is home to quite a few animals. The most common being the swans that like to swim around in packs. The one struck out alone to grab some bread from passerbys and I happened to be there with my camera to catch a crisp solo shot..
This is the passerby in questions feeding the swans. Most people tend to stand by and watch, others like to feed; to each their own.
My favorite photo of the bunch. It encapsulates the feeling of prospect park perfectly in my opinion. The man made structures all surrounded by this beutiful nature, often with a spectator, hidden in the brush.
The first photo on my journey through the park. These stairs are right next to a popular skating spot that I always have to pass through. I spent quite a bit of time waiting for someone to walk down the stairs for this shot. The sun is beaming down through the slit in the trees creating a nice natural spotlight.
On the other side of the building in the woods, sits a brigde to cross the lake. This spot is often filled with photographers because of the lovely background of the lake, trees, and building. All of which I was looking away from!
At the end of my walk, towards the entrance of the park, sat a drum semi circle. I sat for a while just listing and I decided to use my last shot on everything Prospect has to offer: Culture, nature, people, music & community.
I had scouted this area days before this shoot and found this broken down gazebo in this shady grove. Another example of man made structures returning to nature.
These plants were spread throughout the park. I hear people use this plant to treat headaches and sore eyes.
This waterfall & pond is tucked away off to the side off the side of one of the branching trails. There are many branching paths in Prospect park. This was the first time I encounter this specific area. I waited for a while because the woman in the shot looked like she was going to leave, but last minute, I decided having her in the shot would be better. Every spot in Prospect park is populated and desolate at the same time.
This was the only person who ran through my shot correctly. I appreciate him for that.
These plants are called "Kneeling Angelica". It is a very fitting name considering the position I was in while taking the photo.
A woman sitting in the brush...
.... Presumably reading a book? She also features in my shot above!
